Meet Our Team

At Calliaghstown Equestrian Centre, we are focused on providing equestrian services with the highest levels of customer satisfaction & we will do everything we can to meet your expectations. Owned by Anthony Byrne (BHSAI) since 2010, Calliaghstown is now a vibrant hub of equine activity!

Anthony's equine experience is extensive having begun his career during school holidays working in Calliaghstown (a small number of years ago)! Anthony's career has taken him all over the world - Belgium, France, Italy & Germany to name a few! Anthony would attribute his success to the years of training which he received having worked with the likes of Paul Darragh (Irish International Show-Jumper), both Jack and Edward Doyle (Irish International Show-Jumpers) and Grainne Sugars for over 15 years!

Anthony specialises in breeding and the training of young horses. Anthony has sucessfully bred two horses that have qualified for the Elite Sales in Cavan Equestrian along with a horse called 'Lux Like George' who placed 3rd in the RDS 3 year old category of loose jumping. Anthony has broke many young horses and specialises in those with problems.

Anthony regularly competes throughout Ireland and has brought horses to 1.20m level in Show-Jumping and qualified for the RDS is A Amateur (1.05m-1.10m) and AA Amateurs (1.15m-1.20m). Anthony has also hunted with South County Dublin Hunt and Kildare Hunt on numerous occasions. Anthony currently competes on the SJI Circuit at 1.20m and at Riding Club Level at Open Level (1.10m).

Under the management of Anthony Byrne, Calliaghstown Equestrian Centre has gained Aire Approval along with many BHS Approvals. BHS Exams and Training are hosted regularly onsite. The Centre has also been host to many clinics from people such as Edward Doyle, Niall Quirke, Sandra Blake and many more!
